We Quickly Respond to any Changes in the Japanese Edition
The English edition of the Defense of Japan Annual White Paper starts while the Japanese edition is still being made. In recent years, with the increasingly severe changes in international situations and increased attention being paid to Japanese national defense, there is a frequent need to change the Japanese edition in response to the latest situations, even while it is still being made. A production system that responds immediately to these changes is essential. Our team of highly experienced staff will quickly and meticulously update and re-edit the English translation.
We also Produce the Chinese Edition
We do not just work on the English edition. We also translate the digest version of the White Paper into Chinese (using simplified characters). The translated national policies must conform with the stances and statements on information shared by the Prime Minister’s Official Residence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Defence takes great care so no differences in nuance arise between its statements and those of other ministries. We naturally research official and ordinance terminology, and carefully check the latest information published by the central government ministries and agencies. We are always working hard to make sure our translations are clear and cross-sectionally consistent.
We Offer a Wide Range of Services, from Printed Layout Design to Video Subtitle Editing
We do far more than just translation. We also offer a variety of services, including designing the layout of printed materials, HTML creation, and making English subtitles for linked videos. When designing the layout of printed materials, you need to be able to make the content in other languages fit the same page numbers as the Japanese original, despite the differences in text volumes. We change the overall design to meet this goal, such as by changing the size and positioning of charts and images.
When editing video subtitles, you must translate accurately using official and ordinance terminology, while making sure the subtitles can be easily read, all within a set timeframe. Furthermore, as some videos also have captions to display, you have to factor in where all that text will go.
No matter the case, since we cover the whole process from translation to content creation, we edit the content so the translation concisely conveys the exact content of the original, without letting the quality of our translations slip, so as to convey the content in an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand format.
