Privacy Mark Certification

Urban Connections has met the rigorous requirements of the Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community's PrivacyMark Promotion Center and has received Privacy Mark certification. Privacy Mark certification is only granted to organizations that have undergone objective, third-party evaluation of their compliance with all relevant Japanese laws and regulations, including Japan Industrial Standards (JIS) Q 15001 (Personal Information Protection Management System – Requirements). It demonstrates that the receiving organization maintains systems for the appropriate handling and effective protection of personal information.

Personal Information Protection Policy

Urban Connections (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") fully recognizes that personal information is an important component of individual privacy. Accordingly, when handling personal information in the course of its business operations, the Company shall comply with laws related to personal information, establish internal regulations for the protection of personal information, develop the necessary organizational systems, and strive to appropriately protect personal information, thereby respecting its customers and upholding their trust and expectations.

Acquisition, Use, and Provision of Personal Information

The Company shall specify the purposes for which personal information is to be used within the scope of its business activities and shall acquire, use, and provide such information in a fair and appropriate manner, to the extent necessary for the achievement of those purposes. Furthermore, the Company shall take measures to ensure that the acquired personal information is not used for any other purposes.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations

The Company shall comply with all applicable laws, government guidelines, and other relevant regulations and societal standards pertaining to personal information, and shall strive to ensure its appropriate protection.

Appropriate Management of Personal Information

The Company shall remain fully cognizant of the risks associated with the personal information it handles, including unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, leakage, and damage. The Company shall implement reasonable security measures and, in the event of any incident, take appropriate corrective actions.

Response to Inquiries

The Company shall respond appropriately to inquiries from individuals regarding their personal information handled by the Company, including disclosure, correction, cessation of use, and complaints.

Continuous Improvement

The Company shall establish management regulations and systems related to personal information protection, ensure their rigorous implementation among all employees, conduct periodic reviews, and strive to ensure the continuous improvement of the personal information protection management system.

The Company will promptly respond to requests from individuals for disclosure, etc. of retained personal data (including notification of purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, suspension of use, erasure, cessation of third-party provision, and disclosure of third-party provision records). Upon verifying the identity of the requester (or their proxy), the Company will respond within a reasonable timeframe and scope.

For requests for disclosure, etc., of retained personal data, please contact the inquiry desk below. Upon being contacted, the Company will provide its designated "Retained Personal Data Disclosure Request Form" via mail, fax, or email. Please complete the form, attach the required documents, and submit them to the Company via mail or email. (Postage costs shall be borne by the requester.)
Upon verification of the requester's identity (or that of their proxy), the Company shall respond through the requested method of disclosure.

8. Measures for Ensuring the Security of Personal Information

To ensure the strict handling of personal information, the Company has formulated regulations for the protection of personal information based on a personal information protection policy compliant with JIS Q 15001 and operates a personal information protection management system.
